The Crestwood high school knights are taking flight! The students who participated in the Drone Certification program recently visited the 25th OSS Flight Squardon at Shaw Air Force Base. The students engaged in group discussions regarding how the drone industry works at the military level and participated in team-building activities to strengthen their skills as future drone pilots.

The Crestwood high school students meet with the AI Nautics Innovation instructors weekly through a partnership with AI Nautics.The Drone Innovation Technologies Curriculum is an interdisciplinary program sequenced into four courses that provide students with an overall outlook of the history of drones, drone certification, computer science, and drone operations. The AI Nautics partnership introduces the drone industry through work-based learning, leadership, and intensive hands-on training from the leaders in the drone industry.
Through AI Nautics Air Innovations students are provided access to internship opportunities and job opportunities as juniors and seniors.

This group of students is preparing for the certification exam next year. Two students will be able to participate in an internship with the 25th OSS this summer at Shaw Air Force Base.
